Golden Cheese Kachori To Add A Touch Of Royalty To Your Dhanteras Menu
Dhanteras marks the first day of Diwali in India and kicks off the festival in regal style. Dhanteras, rooted in ancient traditions, involves worshipping Goddess Lakshmi, the deity of wealth. Buying gold on this day is believed to invite prosperity and ensure financial growth for the year ahead. But why not add some golden goodness to your table as well?
If you're seeking unique Indian snack recipes, cheese kachoris are an exciting twist on a beloved classic. Kachoris, a popular Indian street food, are enjoyed in various forms across the country. In this version, the traditional filling is replaced with a rich, cheesy centre of Britannia The Laughing Cow Cheese, drawing inspiration from cheese balls while retaining the crispness of a typical kachori. This fusion snack blends the indulgent taste of melted cheese with the familiar crunch, making it a delightful treat for any occasion. Perfect for experimenting with flavours, cheese kachoris are both innovative and delicious.

Ingredients
Quantity | Ingredients |
8 | Britannia The Laughing Cow Cheese Triangles |
100 gms | Britannia The Laughing Cow Cheese Block, grated |
2/3 cup | Flour |
1/4 cup | Onion, diced |
1 tsp | Chilli flakes |
2-3 pinches | Baking powder |
1 tbsp | Coriander |
1/4 cup | Curd |
1 tsp | Italian herb seasoning |
To taste | Salt |
As needed | Oil |
- In a large bowl, combine the grated Britannia The Laughing Cow Cheese Block, ⅔ cup all-purpose flour, ¼ cup chopped onions, 1 tsp chilli flakes, 2-3 pinches of baking powder, 1 tbsp coriander leaves, ¼ cup thick curd, 1 tsp Italian seasoning, and salt. Mix well and knead it into a soft dough.
- Take a small portion of the dough and flatten it using your fingers. Place a bit of the Britannia The Laughing Cow Cheese Triangles in the centre. Fold the edges over the stuffing to cover it completely, shaping it into a ball.
- Ensure the kachori is sealed well, covering all open areas to prevent the filling from leaking during frying.
- Rub a little oil between your palms, then gently press each kachori between your palms to flatten it slightly.
- Prepare all the kachoris in the same manner.
- Heat oil in a deep pan over medium heat. Once the oil is hot, fry 3-4 kachoris at a time.
- Turn the kachoris occasionally and fry until they are golden brown and crispy.
