For all the cheese lovers, these recipes serve an amazing blend of cheese used in the making of these dishes. Chhena Poda is a yummy, healthy Odisha speciality whereas Ras Malai Cake is a no-bake dessert that’s easy for even a beginner to make. The creamy and moist texture of the cake renders it irresistible. Filled with cheese and delectable nuts, here are the simple steps to prepare Ras Malai Cake and Chhena Poda that will keep everyone coming back for seconds.
Ras Malai Mousse - Serves 12
Prep Time: 20 minutes, Cooking Time: 10 minutes

Ras Malai Mousse
Ras Malai Mousse is an authentic fusion of delectable cream cheese and easily Indian flavours which can satisfy your cravings with every bite.
Ingredients
Quantity | Ingredients |
2 cup | Whole milk |
1 can | Condensed milk |
1 pinch | Saffron |
2 tsp | Cardamom powder |
2 cups | Sugar, powdered |
2 cups | Whipped cream, chilled |
2 cups | Cream cheese |
1/4 cup | Pistachios, chopped |
1/4 cup | Rose petals, dried |
Method
- Add whole milk, cardamom, and saffron to a saucepan and bring it to a boil. Allow it to simmer for 5-7 minutes.
- Beat the whipping cream and slowly add powdered sugar. Beat the mixture nicely. Next, beat the cheese and add cardamom.
- Add the cheese batter to the sweetened whipped cream. Mix it nicely until the cream is smooth.
- Pour it into a dish or individual cups and chill let it cool completely.
- Top the mousse with whipped cream. Garnish with crushed pistachios, and dried rose petals.
- Allow the ras malai mousse to chill overnight or a minimum of 4 hours. Serve chilled and enjoy.
Chhena Poda- Serves 6
Prep Time: 10 minutes, Cooking Time: 1 hour

Chhena Poda
The finest cheesecake Chhena Poda is a perfect blend of sweet cheese and Chhena which can entice your soul with every bite.
Ingredients
Quantity | Ingredients |
1 cup | Paneer or chhena |
1/3 tbsp | Semolina |
1/2 cup | Powdered jaggery |
1/4 tsp | Cardamom powder |
1/8 tsp | Rose essence |
1/2 tsp | Ghee, melted |
Method
- Start by preheating the oven to 180°C. In a large mixing bowl, add cheese, powdered jaggery, rose essence, semolina and ground cardamom.
- Mix all the ingredients nicely and make a paste. Pour the cheese batter into the greased cake pan. Ensure to place a parchment paper before pouring the batter.
- Scrape the sides of the batter bowl, gently place the batter and even the top layer with the pan. Make sure that your batter doesn’t have air pockets.
- Bake the batter for about 45-50 minutes. Use a toothpick to check your cake is cooked properly. Allow it to cool completely.
- Flip the cake and remove the parchment paper. Slice your Chhena Poda, serve and enjoy.
