Creamy Macaroons
For someone who likes exploring delightful treats at home, cheese macaroon is a perfect match for you. Prepared with a rich blend of cream cheese and delightful buttery filling, this French recipe is happily accepted by the people of almost every region.
Now a part of almost every bakery and cake shop, you can find an array of macaroon options available in the market. According to some sources, the macaroons began to gain popularity back in 1972 when two Carmelite nuns sold macaron cookies in order to pay their house rent. These nuns also touted as the ‘macaron sisters’ served macarons without any special flavours or filling.
The delicacy has proudly evolved over the tears and the macaroons began to be served two-by-two with the addition of jams, liqueurs and whatnot. You might come across different ways to prepare this sweet and savoury delight but there are actually two methods to prepare macarons at home: French method and Italian method.
The French method sees egg whites that are whisked until stiff peaked meringue forms and on the other hand, the Italian method involves whisking the egg whites with hot sugar syrup to form a meringue. Here is a simple cheese macaroon recipe for the weekend. Enjoy!

Cheese Macaroon
Prepared with a blend of simple ingredients, Cheese macaroons will be your favourite too.
Ingredients
Quantity | Ingredients |
150g | Cream cheese |
100g | Buttercream |
90g | Sugar |
90g | Almond |
70g | Sugar |
3 tsp | Yellow cheese powder |
3 | Eggs |
Method
- Start by dividing sugar into egg whites three and prepare a hard meringue. The step is necessary so that sugar is divided equally and the stability of the foam is maintained. Once the egg white mixture is ready, add powdered almond and sugar powder to the mixture.
- Mix the batter evenly until the powdery mixture disappears. To add a sense of colour to the macaroons, divide the dough in two mixing bowls and add yellow and orange colour to the bowls. This step can highlight the vibrant peels of the macaroons.
- Stir continuously and once the dough takes a shape that stays the shape for some seconds, the dough is complete. It is necessary for the mixture to hold its shape. Pour the mixture into the piping bag and place the round macaroons on top of the parchment paper.
- The pigmented colours will make your macaroons look visually appealing. Place the macaroons in a dry place and later bake them for 5 minutes. Now, add the macaroon filling ingredients in a bowl and mix gently in a bowl. Add the filling into the piping bag and squeeze it on the macaroon cork.
- Close it with another layer of macaroon so, the filling doesn’t come out, serve and enjoy!
