3 tsp Coriander leaves, chopped
½ tspGinger chilli paste
¼ tspCumin powder, roasted
¼ tspBaking soda
1 tspOil
As RequiredCheese, chopped into small blocks

Method

  • To prepare these delicious appe easily at home, start by taking the buttermilk in a bowl. Add salt and sooji to it and mix everything well so that the mixture is lump-free.
  • Now, coarsely grind green peas and corn in a mixer grinder and add the ground mixer to the sooji batter. Stir finely chopped capsicum, ginger-chilli paste, cumin powder and coriander leaves.
  • Mix everything well and keep the mixture covered for 15 minutes so that the sooji absorbs water completely. Lastly, add baking soda to the appe batter before preparing the appe and give it a good stir.
  • Next, heat appe pan and add a few drops of oil in the appe holes. Fill half of the holes with batter and place a chopped cheese cube in the centre of each appe hole. Fill some batter on it and cook covered on medium flame till the side of the appe turns crisp. Flip the appe again and add 2-3 drops of oil in the holes. Cook covered from the other side and cook evenly.
  • Once the appe are cooked completely, serve warm with coconut or peanut chutney and enjoy your meal.
