5 tspOil (for cooking)

Method

  • In a large mixing bowl, add 1 cup besan, ¼ tsp turmeric, ¼ tsp ajwain, and salt to taste. Mix well. Gradually add ½ cup water (or a bit more, if necessary), whisking continuously to create a smooth batter. Let the batter rest for about 10 minutes to allow the besan to absorb the water and become light in texture.
