Double Cheese Sandwich

Made with capsicum, onion, cheese and spices, this yummy sandwich is perfect for evening snacking.

​​Ingredients for the stuffing:​

1 capsicum, 1 onion, 2 green chillies, 1 inch ginger, ½ teaspoon cumin powder, ¼ teaspoon pepper powder, ½ teaspoon chaat masala, ½ teaspoon chilli flakes, ¼ teaspoon salt, 3 tablespoons coriander

​​Ingredients for the sandwich​

Cheese, green chutney, butter, bread slices

​Step 1​

In a bowl, combine chopped capsicum, onion, green chillies and ginger. Add cumin, pepper powder, chaat masala, chilli flakes, salt, and coriander. Mix everything well.

Spread butter on two slices of bread. Then, spread green chutney evenly on both buttered slices. Place a generous amount of the prepared stuffing on each bread slice.

Top the stuffing with your favorite cheese. Carefully place the two prepared bread slices on top of each other, creating a sandwich. Spread butter on the topmost bread slice for even browning.

​​Step 4​

Heat your sandwich maker. Place the assembled sandwich inside and close the lid. Grill for a few minutes on both sides, until golden brown.

Trim off any excess bread that spills out during grilling. Heat a pan with butter over medium heat.

Place the assembled sandwich in the pan and cook for a few minutes on each side, pressing down gently with a spatula, until golden brown and the cheese melts.

Once cooked serve hot.
